Bring the Sea Home – How Coastal Artwork Can Keep You Connected to the Ocean

Do you ever feel disconnected from the ocean? Do you long to hear the waves, feel the salty breeze, and watch the tide roll in? That’s exactly how I felt living in London.

Every holiday, weekend trip, or day off I would head straight to the coast. On the daily commute, standing on packed tube trains, I would dream of warm sand, crashing waves, and the endless rhythm of the sea. I didn’t fully realise just how much I missed it… until I got there.

I know not everyone can move to the coast. Life is full of commitments, responsibilities, and restrictions. But what if you could bring the sea to you?

It’s easier than you might think. In my previous blogs, I’ve written about the impact your surroundings have on your mood and wellbeing. Think about it: why do you feel so rejuvenated on holiday? Why does swimming in the ocean leave you feeling energised? It’s not just because you’re away from work.

The ocean has a profound effect on us. Its energy is abundant, flowing, and continuous. When we connect with it, we absorb that energy, leaving us calmer, happier, and more inspired. But when we’re far from the coast – in a city, town, or countryside – that energy fades… until we can return.

That’s where art comes in. Artwork has the power to emit energy and emotion to anyone who experiences it. Surrounding yourself with beauty elevates your mood, nourishes your wellbeing, and keeps your connection to the sea alive – even from afar.

I create contemporary seascape oil paintings and limited edition prints inspired by the ocean. Every piece captures the feelings the sea evokes in me: freedom, calm, and joy. Whether it’s a print on paper or canvas, you can bring the energy of the coast into your home.

Explore my canvas prints here and discover how you can keep the sea close, no matter where you live.

With Kindness,

Magda
