I have always been drawn to the sea when it is at its most powerful—not only for its drama, but for the honesty of its movement. Nothing is hidden. Every force rises to the surface.
There is something deeply human in that.
A Beautiful Reckoning reflects the moments when we are asked to face what can no longer be avoided—when competing emotions, experiences or truths finally meet. It is not necessarily a moment of destruction, but one of recognition and change.
For me, the painting is about finding beauty within that reckoning. The wave breaks, but it is not diminished. It becomes movement, light and something newly formed.
