Created in collaboration with the talented minimalist photographer Sara (@misskittinn), the painting began with a single photographic moment that captured the stillness and beauty of the sea. The sea has always felt deeply personal to me.
No two people stand before the ocean and see exactly the same thing. Each of us brings our own memories, hopes and emotions to the shoreline, finding comfort in its endless rhythm and open horizon.
This painting began with a beautiful minimalist photograph by Sara (@misskittinn), whose quiet vision captured a moment that immediately resonated with me. As I worked in oils, I allowed the image to evolve into something more emotional than literal, layering colour, light and texture until it became less about a place and more about a feeling.
For me, this painting is about love in all its forms—the love we carry, the love we remember and the love that quietly connects us to the sea.
My hope is that A Sea Full of Love and Emotion becomes more than a painting within the home.
