The sea has always represented something deeper than landscape to me. It is a place of stillness and movement, memory and reflection—a space where the noise of everyday life softens and a sense of perspective returns.

My paintings are inspired by the emotional experience of being immersed in coastal environments. Rather than depicting a specific location, I seek to capture the atmosphere, light and feeling of the sea: the shifting horizon, the rhythm of the tide and the sense of calm that comes from standing at the edge of something vast and timeless.

Working in oil allows me to build layers of colour, texture and depth, creating works that evolve slowly and invite prolonged engagement. Through this process, I aim to create paintings that feel immersive rather than observational—works that draw the viewer into a moment of stillness and connection.

At the heart of my practice is a desire to bring the restorative qualities of nature into interior spaces. My paintings are created to be lived with, offering a daily reminder of the beauty, freedom and quiet contemplation that the sea can inspire.

Through atmosphere rather than description, I hope to create work that resonates on a personal level, allowing each viewer to find their own memories, emotions and sense of place within it.
